The 2028 Democratic presidential primary will be the most consequential in a generation. It will be crowded, messy and hotly contested.
Project 270 will ensure that winning at least 270 electoral votes — what it takes to win back the White House – remains at the center of the conversation.
Until Democrats have a presumptive nominee, we will regularly commission and release comprehensive research in battleground states (and, at times, potential expansion states) to provide a data-driven assessment of the general election landscape and what it will take to get to 270 electoral votes.

The Research Team
We are working with a diverse cohort of leading public opinion research firms from across the Democratic ecosystem. Throughout the primary, they will bring a deep expertise of the communities, coalitions, and battleground state voters that will decide the 2028 general election. The breadth of this partnership ensures our data reflects the full complexity of the electorate Democrats need to win 270 electoral votes.
